Shanara Reid-Brinkley told me that after the Darfur debate in her African-American rhetoric class, FOUR students asked about joining the debate team. She has two already partnered up and preparing for a tournament at the end of the term!
As in past years, the ESU-USA tour stop here has been educational and entertaining for our students and has highlighted the importance of debate for the wider university community. That, friends, is a win-win.
Hearty thanks to those patient souls who cajoled the mob outside our production studio not to storm the facilities while we were putting the finishing touches on the Pittsburgh puppet debate video!
